Art Fraud
Illustrated for: Open Skies (Emirates)
Brief:
Two illustrations for an article on art fraud.

My approach:
A use of iconic imagery with a touch of humour.
Something tickled me about strapping the Mona Lisa up to a lie detector test. It was also an opportunity to commit art fraud by copying one of father's paintings from the 80s. His original is called 'Copy' and is of a man at a photocopier. I took this idea and took it further by photocopying famous paintings. I think he doesn't mind.
Other ideas included having the Mona Lisa be grilled by Police detectives from behind a two way mirror, an auction for a painting of a copyright symbol, Duchamps' famous unrinal sculpture but instead of 'R.Mutt' there would be 'Made in China' instead.
